Monty's 1st rosette.jpg

Hi everyone,

We have been busy since our last blog and taken part in 2 carriage driving competitions.

I don’t always have help when I compete, but I didn’t need to worry as I have had some lovely people come over to offer help. It's been a fantastic experience learning to carriage drive, the support is incredible. We are so lucky to have such an amazing group of people!

During our competitions we have improved our times, and Monty has started to storm the obstacles like a pro! I must say, he absolutely loves it!

It was great to see the other competitors again. It feels amazing to have people cheering us on. The support gives you such confidence and creates a great atmosphere, little Monty loves the attention.

We did a great dressage test thanks to some positive feedback; the cones were fine, although I need to work on my steering technique! It’s funny how the cones seem so deceptively simple.... That’s my excuse anyway!

The obstacles looked a bit more technical. The route felt a little longer than in previous competitions; however, Monty was totally focused and remembered the way around, he was on fire!
He has figured out what he needs to do. We zoomed around in trot and canter and got a few good turns in. I was thrilled with our run and Monty's try. Literally over the moon, I couldn't stop smiling.

To end a lovely competition Monty got his first rosette! I am so proud of my little guy, he is so clever!!
